My name is Bobby, and this is the story of our "Victory Garden".
My father and I share our home with friends who are like family. We have all lived together for years for better economics, companionship, and safety.
Clan "Bear" Kim calls us. :)
We are trying to live healthier and longer by eating more of our own home grown organic fruits and vegetables. We are trying to move more into a self sustaining life style. It will be a long ardous adventure to encompasses many factor's, such as a garden, rain barrels, vermiculture, a watering well, solar panels, and a pond stocked with edible fish.
We make this move towards a hopeful future, while encouraging others to start growing and eating their own food to become healthier and more self reliant, building skill sets, most of us have lost through the generation's. This is a great way to build community via networking, hosting co-op programs, educational gardening sessions, garden parties and seed sharing.
Most every one's grandparents and great grand parents knew how to live off the land and grow their own food, their lives and that of their children depended on it.
If you know me, live/work in the village of the arts, love gardening, interested in a sustainable future, interested in blogging, or just like watching the garden grow, I know this will be fun,
We are novice gardeners with heart and dedication to work towards our goals. With out further ado, our story begins.
Before our "Victory Garden" idea was conceived, this is how bare my front landscaping or lack there of appeared. This is an old photo but the only one I have since we have started implementing changes.
What a waste of space and unused potential. That's about to change. Stay tuned for further updates.
